The Maasai Mara Game Reserve is arguably Kenya’s most popular game sanctuary. It is the most famous and most visited game reserve in Kenya. The film ‘Out of Africa’ was made to a great extent in this reserve – thanks to the immigrating animals from Tanzania. Virtually every type of wildlife can be seen at the Mara. A spectacle worth seeing is the annual migration of millions of wildebeest, zebra and gazelle from Serengeti plains across the Tanzania border and the Mara River to arrive at the Maasai Mara grazing fields from late June. The dramatic crossing of the river and the preying on the migrants by predators can be viewed from early July to August. The reserve abounds with birdlife since dose to about 452 species have been recorded. Hot air balloon safaris are readily available in this park and can be arranged at an extra cost of US$ 585 per person which has to be booked earlier, meaning that it has to be included in the safari package.
Day 4: Mara- Lake Nakuru
Breakfast then depart the lodge as you view game and drive to lake Nakuru national park to arrive in good time for lunch. Afternoon game drives followed by dinner and overnight stay at Lake Nakuru Guest House
Lake Nakuru’s claim to fame is anchored on its flamingo’s and the over 400 species of birds found here. The lake itself is a soda lake on the floor of the rift valley. The sight of the at times millions of flamingos is quite spectacular. From a distance the lake appears ringed in pink. The Lake has also earned a reputation as an important haven for endangered species- particularly the Rothschild Giraffe and the black and white rhino. Lions, waterbuck, buffalo and baboons are all residents here
Day 5: Lake Nakuru-Arusha
Early morning game drives then return to the lodge for breakfast and proceed to Nairobi. Have lunch in Nairobi then board an afternoon shuttle bus to Arusha. On arriving Arusha, we will meet you and drive you to Arusha Crown hotel or similar for overnight stay
Day 6: Arusha- Lake Manyara
Depart Arusha in the morning for Lake Manyara. Afternoon game drive, dinner and overnight at a campsite
Located beneath the cliffs of the Manyara Escarpment, on the edge of the Rift Valley, Lake Manyara National Park offers varied ecosystems, incredible bird life, and breathtaking views. Lake Manyara’s famous tree-climbing lions are another reason to pay this park a visit. The only kind of their species in the world, they make the ancient mahogany and elegant acacias their home during the rainy season, and are a well-known but rather rare feature of the northern park. In addition to the lions, the national park is also home to the largest concentration of baboons anywhere in the world — a fact that makes for interesting game viewing of large families of the primates
Day 7: Manyara- Serengeti
After breakfast depart for Serengeti passing through Olduvai Gorge, the site of Leakey’s family discovery of fossils of human and animal ancestors dating back to almost two million years. Meals and overnight at Serengeti Seronera campsite
Day 8: Serengeti
Full day in Serengeti plains in search for wild game you might have missed the previous day game drive. Morning and afternoon game drives. Meals and overnight at a campsite
Serengeti is easily Tanzania’s most famous national park, and it is also the largest, at 14,763 square kilometers of protected area that borders Kenya’s Masai Mara Game Park. It is the Migration for which Serengeti is evidently most famous. Over a million wildebeest and about 200,000 zebras flow south from the northern hills to the southern plains for the short rains every October and November, and then swirl west and north after the long rains in April, May and June. So strong is the ancient instinct to move that no drought, gorge or crocodile infested river can hold them back. The Wildebeest travel through a variety of parks, reserves and protected areas and through a variety of habitat. Join us to explore the different forms of vegetation and landscapes of the Serengeti ecosystem and meet some of their most fascinating inhabitants.
Day 9: Serengeti – Ngorongoro crater:
We view game as we drive southeast up into the magnificent Ngorongoro Conservation .Full afternoon crater tour followed by dinner and overnight stay at a Simba campsite by the crater rim.
The Ngorongoro crater is the world’s biggest whole volcanic caldera at 8300 sq km and is arguably the most stunning arena.
It is frequently described as one of the wonders of the world, not only because of its geological magnificence, but also because it serves as an extraordinary natural sanctuary for some of Africa’s largest populations of large mammals. Ngorongoro and other freestanding mountains are volcanic in origin, formed during the fracturing process that created the Rift valley 15 to 20 million years ago. When it peaked in size 3 million years ago it was a similar height to Mt. Kilimanjaro today
Day 10: Ngorongoro- Arusha

Day 4: Lake Nakuru National park.
We will break the camp soon after breakfast and proceed to Lake Nakuru National park. Game is viewed as we exit the park, enjoying our lunch enroute. Dinner and overnight at a campsite in Nakuru National Park.
Lake Nakuru is a shallow alkaline lake on the edges of Nakuru town and lies a distance of 160 kilometers from Nairobi. The lake is world famous as home to millions of flamingoes. The number of flamingoes depends on the water level which determines the quantity of algae on which the birds feed. Flamingoes are known to migrate to other Rift Valley lakes whenever the water level is low. The National Park surrounds the lake and was gazetted to protect the colony of flamingoes as well as provide sanctuary for endangered species such as the rhino. There are about 25 white and black rhinos, one of the largest concentrations in the country. Predators are also residents to this park while Rothschild’s giraffe have been trans-located into the park for safety.
Day 5: Lake Nakuru – Maasai Mara
Soon after breakfast, we will break the camp and travel south through the beautiful savannahs and plains of the Rift Valley and reach our base camp site, where we will enjoy another evening out bush under the far-reaching African sky. Game is viewed as we proceed to Mara Enchoro or Sidai Camp for Dinner and overnight stay.

We depart the campsite soon after breakfast and proceed to Lake Naivasha. Visit to hells gate national park- this park can be explored on foot or by cycling- bicycles are available for hire at an extra cost. Dinner and overnight stay at Fish Eagle Camp.
Hells gate national park is characterized by diverse topography and geological scenery. It has historically been an important home for the rare lammergeyer, but it is now thought that the famous pair of birds may not have nested in the park for several years.
One is encouraged to hike and cycle in the park. This is a rarity in Kenyan National Parks, and is only made possible due to the lack of large predators such as lions and cheetahs
Day 9: Lake Naivasha – Amboseli National park
We will break the camp and proceed to Amboseli national park. Via Nairobi –Amboseli is the magnificent park at the foot hills of Mt.Kilimanjaro. We will have afternoon game drives followed by dinner and overnight stay at Kibo safari Camp or similar facility. This small park (at 392 sq km) is the second most popular park in Kenya after Maasai Mara, mainly due to the spectacular backdrop of Mt. Kilimanjaro in Tanzania, on the southern boundary.
Amboseli means ‘the place of water’ in Maasai language. The park has an endless supply of water which is filtered through thousands of meters of volcanic rock from Mount Kilimanjaro in Tanzania. Animal species seen include elephant, zebra, wildebeest, giraffe, impala and leopard. The birdlife seen here includes pelican, bee-eater, kingfisher, African fish eagle and pygmy falcon running away from the ice-cold weather from Mount Kilimanjaro to sun bathing and tanning in the sunny, dry weather of the Amboseli. Amboseli is one of the most popular parks and offers excellent accommodation facilities. There are five lodges and two campsites inside the park. Kilimanjaro forms the backdrop of this game sanctuary and it is a sight to see and marvel at. The nomadic richly decorated Maasai who are deeply steeped in Maasai culture entertain visitors with enchanting dances of ageless Africa.
Day 10: Full Day Amboseli.
Full Game drive and overnight.
Day 11: Amboseli – Lake Manyara
Early morning game drives, return to the camp for breakfast, and drive into Tanzania via the Namanga border. We proceed to a campsite for dinner and overnight stay.
Lake Manyara is a shallow, alkaline lake that is part of the Rift Valley wall; the lake is at the base of the dramatic western escarpment giving it a beautiful and serene setting. In addition to this peaceful setting, Lake Manyara’s main attractions are its rich bird life, tree climbing lions and its hippos, which you can see at a closer range than from many other places. Lake Manyara also hosts thousands of flamingos at certain times of the year and has diverse vegetation ranging from savannah, to marshes and acacia woodland, enabling a variety of wildlife habitats including butterflies.

Elephants are in their very large numbers and the few remaining black rhinoceros are restricted to a special area, keeping them away from the poachers.
Serengeti also offers rewarding bird viewing with ostrich and kori bustard being common, a variety of larks, finches, and raptors can be seen but the most distinctive small bird is the lilac breasted roller
Day 14: Serengeti – Ngorongoro crater
