Getting to Tanzania

Tanzania’s air hub is Julius Nyerere International Airport in Dar es Salaam (DAR). The airport is served by several Airlines from Europe, Asia and Africa.

6 miles / 10 Km to Dar Es Salaam.

Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO) which is located between Arusha and Moshi, also handles international flights, and is the best option for itineraries in Arusha and the northern safari circuit.

KLM, Kenya Airways, Ethiopian Airways, Turkish Airways, Qatar Airways, Rwanda Air Express, Condor, Air Uganda.

30 miles / 48 Km to Arusha or Moshi Towns.

To fly into or out of Nairobi you can make connections with local airlines to Kilimanjaro or Dar es Salaam or Zanzibar.

BY  ROAD.
Road conditions vary a great deal.  The best way to enter Tanzania overland is from Kenya. Both short and long distance bus services are available. On the main long-haul routes, there is a choice between luxury and ordinary buses.  There are buses available from Nairobi and Mombasa towns  and also from the Nairobi International Airport to Tanzania. Advance booking is recommended.
