Day 1: Arrival in Tanzania (Kilimanjaro Airport)

Karibu Tanzania – Welcome to Tanzania. On arrival at the airport you will be met by one of our staff members. After greet and meet services he will escort you to your accommodation in Arusha (approximately 60 Km) ready for the safari tomorrow. The lodge is perched on the slopes of Mount Meru with magnificent view of the mountain.

Day 2: Discover the Tarangire

After breakfast set off on safari with your private car and driver to Tarangire National Park (approx. 120 km). Named for the river that nourishes the wildlife of a vast ecosystem, Tarangire is home to elephant, zebra, wildebeest, gazelle, buffalo, eland, water buck, lion, giraffe, onyx and an unsurpassed diversity of birds. From June to November, masses of wildlife congregate around the river, but the park is a stronghold for big game year-round. Take your first game drive before retiring to your beautifully designed tented lodge, hidden among ancient baobab trees and giant rock kopjes within the park.

Day 3: Full day game drive in Ngorongoro Crater

After breakfast we descend some 610 meters into the crater, which is home to an abundance of wildlife and a photogenic paradise, for a full day of game viewing drive with picnic lunch at a private scenic site (hippos pool). Ngorongoro Crater, the largest intact caldera in the world teams with an abundance of wildlife permanently resident on the crater floor. Prides of lions, herds of Cape buffalo, impala, Thompson gazelles, rhino, golden and black backed jackal, zebra, cheetah, leopard and the spotted hyena freely roam on the crater floor plains. Unmatched for its natural variety and breath taking beauty, there are few places on earth where such a tremendous diversity of landscapes exist inside a region this size. Apart from its wildlife riches, the crater is also home to hundreds of bird species, refreshing in the small lakes in the crater floor.
In the evening we drive back to our game lodge for overnight stay.

Day 4: Drive to Olduvai Gorges.

After breakfast, pack and depart to Olduvai Gorge (~ 2 hrs. drive to Olduvai). We arrive at the Oldupai Gorge, one of the most important prehistoric sites in the world to learn about human evolution. We will Visit Olduvai museum and meet site manager, and have a guided tour of the Mary Leakey’s Olduvai and Laetoli exhibits and the new museum.
We proceed to our camp to a warm welcome, check in and this afternoon just relax and enjoy the breathtaking and spectacular views of the Ngorongoro scenery, the largest unbroken caldera in the world.

Day 5: Full day Olduvai Gorges.

After an early morning coffee go for birding around the camp, go back to the camp for breakfast. Today enjoy a Movie night: e.g., HATARI, a John Wyne movie made in Arusha ~1961

Dinner & overnight at Olduvai Camp located on the south-western tip of the Side Gorge (20 minutes’ drive from field camp).

Day 6: Drive to Serengeti

The legendary Serengeti Plain is your destination today (50 km), a vast rolling plain whose sparse vegetation allows for some of the best wildlife viewing in the world. The annual migration of wildebeest and zebra is one of the park’s great attractions, but throughout the year the Serengeti is excellent for seeing predators such as lion, leopard and cheetah, along with elephant, giraffe, hyena, hippo, rhino, and many varieties of antelopes and birds. Depending with animal movement we can arrange packed lunch or go back to the lodge for hot lunch. The evening is free to rest.

Day 7: Full day in the endless plains of Serengeti – Optional Balloon Safari.

If you rise early you can take a morning game drive through the park to see the nocturnal predators returning from their nightly hunt and very active animals waking up in the early morning light. Depending on the time of year and the migration of the herds, you can expect to see wildebeest, lions, elephants, giraffes, zebras, monkeys, baboons, hippos, rhinos, antelopes, birds and other species.
we enjoy morning and afternoon game viewing drives on the vast Serengeti plains. In the early morning and evening light, the Serengeti landscape is stunningly beautiful. The Serengeti ecosystem supports the greatest remaining concentration of plains game in Africa, including more than three million large mammals. The park is one that can never disappoint. One is spoilt by the variety of bird and wildlife species in this game reserve.
Depending with wildlife movement, we can have hot lunch at the camp or enjoy picnic lunch packets.
(For those doing a balloon safari, you will start early in the morning and meet at a rendezvous point to meet with your driver guide and continue your day’s game drives)

Day 8: Flight to Arusha – transfer to the airport.
After a final morning game drive you will be taken to the Seronera airstrip where you will board a shared charter to Arusha. The flight to Zanzibar take approx. 1 hour and upon you will be meet and proceed to the Arusha hotel for lunch and Day room.
Later this afternoon you will be brought to the airport for your evening flight back home.

Price includes:

  • Service of an English speaking professional driver/guide.
  • Transport whilst on safari in a 4×4 safari Land cruiser with pop up roof for game viewing.
  • Transfers in Arusha and in Zanzibar.
  • Flight from Serengeti to Arusha.
  • Full Board Accomodation whilst on safari.
  • One night before safari in Arusha hotel on Half Board basis.
  • Day room use at Arusha on day 8.
  • All park entrance fees and goverment taxes as per the itinerary.
  • Drivers salary and allowances plus park fees for driver and vehicle.
  • Complimentary drinking water in your vehicle whilst on safari.

  • Items of a personal nature i.e., telephone/internet usage, laundry, bottled water and other alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, etc.
  • Change in itinerary.
  • Increase in park fees or other charges beyond our control.
  • Activities not mentioned in the package.

  • Visa’s (between $ 50 – $ 100).
  • Lunch in Arusha hotel.
  • Extra drinks and meals that are not mentioned on the package.

Reservations that are cancelled, reduced in length of stay or reduced in numbers are subject to Cancellation fee. Any cancellation of a reservation must be in writing, and shall only be effective upon its receipt and acknowledgment.
The following cancellation fee will be subject to cancelled bookings:

  • More than 60 days prior to arrival date: 30%
  • 60 days to 30 days prior to arrival: 50%
  • 30 days to 15 days prior to arrival: 80%
  • 15 days to No show prior to arrival: 100%

No refund will be given to the following:

  • Itinerary Amended After Departure.
  • There will be no refunds from World Air Travel and Tours Ltd for any unused portions of the tour.
  • Lost Travel Time or Substitution of Facilities.
  • No tour refund is available should you fail to join a tour or join it after departure or leave it prior to its completion.

We strongly recommend that you secure trip and cancellation insurance.
SPECIAL NOTE

  • We may have to reroute the itinerary or accommodate in similar lodges in case of non-availability.
  • Prices may be changed without prior notice. This is beyond our control and any increase levied will be passed to you for park fees and government taxes.

PASSENGER INFORMATION

  • Passengers should bring soft sided bags on safaris as our vehicles have limited luggage space.
  • All the passengers must have Identification Card/Passport with them for any internal flights.
  • Baggage on internal flights is strictly limited to 15kgs per person (including hand luggage). Any excess baggage will be charged by the airline at check-in.
  • Passengers arriving in TANZANIA will be asked to present a valid Yellow Fever Vaccination Certificate.
